About Terri Lynn

Terri Lynn grew up watching her grandma and aunt cook for family gatherings.  Raised by a working mom, she often prepared nightly dinners.  "Mom would get so aggravated by how much mess I made but she was just happy she did not have to come home and cook!"

Terri Lynn worked in restaurants all through high school and college.  Once she graduated with a degree in business from Indiana University, she was faced with what to do with the rest of her life.  The summer after graduation, while working at Sam's Food and Spirits, her good friend's parents asked her to put together a surprise party for their daughter's 21st birthday. It was held in the party room at Sam's.  "I often say that it is how my career started! Sam was pretty impressed by the job I had done."  A business plan and a few weeks later Terri Lynn started and ran Sam's Specialty Catering for 3 years until she went in to sales for a food distributor.  It was this entrepreneurial experience along with many years of hands on food service work that helped Terri Lynn realize that opening her own catering business was truly her passion.

In October of 1998, Terri Lynn's Catering by Design, Inc. was incorporated and she catered her first event in January of 1999.  After 3 moves and many renovations, Terri Lynn's Catering is now located at Highlander Point in Floyds Knobs.
